Foreign students and researchers
The French Government has implemented a significant
device of reception of students and foreign researchers.
The CNOUS manages the application for stipendium from foreign students
and provides information on the stipendium available. Contact :

The EGIDE informs on the possibilities of training in France for

The Pasteur allowances, applied from the French Embassy
of the origin country of the applicant, are intended to the
foreign students already holder of a Master's degree and which wish
to integrate a French Grande Ecole, University, or to have a training
period in a company situated on the French territory.
Created by the French Ministry for Foreign Affairs in January 1999,
the purpose of the Eiffel excellency stipendium are to support the
arrival of students from emergent countries to France, in a context
of increased competition between developed countries wishing to

In autumn 2000, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs created the program
"Major" in complement of the program of excellency stipendium
of the Agency for French Teaching Abroad (AEFE). They are destined
to foreign alumni of the French colleges abroad. The program "Major"
allows students whose stipendium of excellency AEFE finishes to
continue their higher studies in France thanks to three additional
years of stipendium for studies in the French Grandes Ecoles or
university programs until obtaining a diploma of master (5 years
after General Certificate of Education). This program is managed
by the CNOUS
The Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie offers stipends for
3d to 8th year of University in order to to study or have a training

The EduFrance Agency has
been created in 1998 by the French Government to support the arrival
of a greater number of foreign students in France. Edufrance federates,
coordinates and animates the international action of a vast network
of publicly-owned and private institutions : universities, engineering
schools, business and management schools, institutes, foundations
and national centers which gather their experiment and know-how.
