Admission to French Business schools

There are different exams for students from Classes préparatoires and for students.

The entrance exams consist of two parts. The written exam takes place on May each year and the oral exam between the 15 of june and the 15 of july according to business schools.

Final admission requires to get successful in the entrance exam. Most school share a common entrance exam. The applicants take the same exam, but the criteria for admission and the required result vary according to the schools.

The CCIP common entrance exam federates 25 Grandes Ecoles de Commerce : Audencia, ESCP-EAP, EDHEC, ESC Amiens, ESC Brest, ESC Chambéry, ESC Clermont, ESC Dijon, ESC Grenoble, ESC La Rochelle, ESC Le Havre, ESC Lille, EM Lyon, ESC Montpellier, ESC Nice, ESC Pau, ESC Rennes, ESC St-Etienne, IECS Strasbourg, ESC Toulouse, ESC Troyes, ESCEM, ESSEC, HEC, INT Management, NÉGOSUP, ESLSCA, ISC. The Ecricome exam federates the business schools of Bordeaux, Marseille-Provence, Reims, Rouen and ICN Nancy.
Other business schools have their own entrance exam: ESC Marne-la-Vallée, ESLSCA (Paris), ESG (Paris), IECS Strasbourg, INSEEC (Bordeaux+Paris), INT-Gestion, ISC (Paris), ISG (Paris)...
Admission requirements

The common way of entering a French Grandes Ecoles de Commerce is to pass the entrance examination for "Classe préparatoire".Other applicants may be admitted in the 1st year if they pass an examination called "admission parallelle" and open to holders of three types of diplomas:

  • Diplôme d'études universitaires générales (DEUG) Sciences Economiques
  • Diplôme universitaire de technologie (DUT) Tech de Co et GEA,
  • Brevet de technicien supérieur (BTS) Comptabilité et Gestion, Commerce International, Action Commerciale.

    Part of the schools are gathered to propose a common entrance exam. There are three main different common exams: Passerelle, Profils and Tremplin.

    • Passerelle ESC
      Created in 1992, it gathers the business schools of Amiens, Clermont, Dijon, Grenoble, Le Havre, Lille, Montpellier, Nice, Pau, Rennes, Toulouse, Poitiers/Tours (ESCEM). To know more about the entrance exam and other useful information : http://www.passerelle-esc.com
    • PROFILS

    • TREMPLIN
      Tremplin is the common entrance exam of the five Ecricome business schools : Bordeaux, Marseille, Reims, Rouen and ICN Nancy.
